What are the causes of upset stomach, noises, and loose motion on drinking milk?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi,

I have had a frequent gas problem for a month because of drinking energy drinks for many years. Doctor gave me Nexium 40 mg. I have been taking it for the last three days, but I am not sure it is helping and improving my condition. Whenever I drink milk, I get an upset stomach, noises, and get loose motion. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms suggest it can be functional dyspepsia or irritable bowel syndrome.

I have these suggestions for you-

1. You must avoid eating spicy junk food and juices.

2. You must try to eat small frequent meals.

3. You must take low fat and low carbohydrate diet.

4. You must drink plenty of fluids and water.

You can continue your medication.

5. You can add a tablet Acotiamide (gastroprokinetics) 100 mg thrice a day.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor,

How long will it take to improve my condition? I am unable to work, and when I work, I can not be close to anyone due to frequent gas problems and sounds in my stomach. I did endoscopy two to three times in the past and was diagnosed with a small hiatus hernia and gastritis.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Your condition should improve in one to two months.

Please follow the suggestions given to you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello,

Tablet Acotiamide 100 mg that you suggested is not available in my place. Can you please suggest some other medicine? Should I get an endoscopy done?

If you can not take of Acotiamide tablet, I suggest you take tablet Pantoprazole levosulpiride (Levosulpiride with Pantoprazole) 40 mg once daily before breakfast.
