I have itchy spots that are not clearing with treatment. Please take a look.

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have red, itchy spots on my chest, stomach, and shoulders, and a few on my shins and arms. I am being treated by my doctor for a fungal infection.

However, after two months of treatment, it does not seem to be clearing, and indeed, the itching is worse. I have a further appointment with her next week, but I feel I would like one of your consultants to take a look.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and have viewed the files (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

There can be many reasons for itchy red spots. This does not seem like a fungal infection. This seems to be an allergy to something, which can be soap, plants, an insect bite, etc. You are applying a mild steroid cream. If the potency of the steroid cream is increased, you might feel relief. Spray insect repellent medicine at home.

Hope it helps.

Thank you.
