Hi doctor,
I have several itchy lesions on my body, both buttocks, on the right cheek, under the beard, and between eyebrows, which started two months ago. I stay in a humid place and sweat a lot. I tried to use miconazole cream on lesions, but it has not stopped the spread. A few months back, I had this same issue (in the same areas) and consulted a doctor who identified it as tinea corporis and prescribed capsule Canditral 100 mg twice daily for three weeks, Sole ointment for ten days, and KZ soap. It happened soon after I recovered from COVID-19. The lesions disappeared on time after medications but reappeared in the last one to two months. Please help with this.

I understand your concern. Yes, the condition is known as tinea corporis or dermatophytosis. It is a type of superficial skin infection. It can affect the groin, buttocks, or any skin area, along with nails. The face and forehead look more like seborrheic dermatitis caused by superficial fungus. I suggest you the following medicines for two weeks, then follow up. Take Capsule Itragreat (Itraconazole) 100 mg twice a day. Use Cream Lulifin (Luliconazole) apply once at night. Take Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once at night. Use AF-K lotion (Ketoconazole 2%, Zinc pyrithione 1%) for scalp thrice per week. It will help reduce seborrheic dermatitis part. Keep separate clothes, including the towel. Also, get your LFT (liver function test) and blood test done. Follow up after two weeks.

The course of medication ends in the next two days. Most of the itchy patches have healed, but a few scaly bits are left that are slightly itchy in some areas, both on the buttocks and cheek. I am sharing the image with you. Do I have to continue any new medication after two days?

I have checked the images you shared (attached removed to protect the patient's identity). It looks better in terms of erythema and scaling. As it takes time to subside completely, I recommend you continue the same medicines for two more weeks. After that, you can continue with only topical medication, depending on the response. But I will recommend you get your LFT (Liver function test) done as it is important to monitor liver function while taking tablet Itraconazole.
Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
