Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a constant dull ache just below my ribs; sometimes, it becomes intolerable. I also have frequent burping and flatulence. My ultrasound reports show gallbladder stones of 2.5 millimeters and liver cysts of 4.5 millimeters. Should I go for surgery, or is there any medicinal treatment also? Please elaborate on what I should do.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your case history and attached laboratory investigations (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Your symptoms are not related to gallstones or liver cysts. There is no Inflammation within the gall bladder, so these are known as asymptomatic gall bladder stones; small liver cysts are usually asymptomatic too. Instead, your symptoms are related to your stomach, which can be gastritis or acid peptic disease. Therefore, I suggest the following.

(Consult a specialist doctor, talk with them and take medications with their consent.)

1. Take a capsule of Pantoprazole 40 mg daily for acid suppression within your stomach.

2. Antacid syrup Gaviscon (Sodium alginate, Sodium bicarbonate, and Calcium carbonate) 10 ml after every meal.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
