Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had stomach pain, bloating, gurgling and pelvic pressure one month ago. A left ovary follicle and grade 1 fatty liver were found in my ultrasound. My (cancer antigen) CA125 value was 9. I was referred to a gastroenterologist who recommended the tablet Pantoprazole and Normaxin for ten days. My condition improved, but I had heavy reflux after I had brunch and alcohol. I am taking the tablet Sompraz D. My abdominal pain has subsided, but I have developed slight nausea after taking the medicines. I want to mention that I had erosive gastritis four years ago, which was detected through endoscopy, and I was also treated for H-pylori infection. Should I stop taking the medicines that cause nausea? Should I undergo the endoscopy again? Are my symptoms suggestive of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or gastritis?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Since how long have you been taking the medications, and are you taking them regularly?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I have been taking the medications regularly for five days.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I think you have gastritis, but you will recover in four to eight weeks. I suggest you continue taking the tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once before breakfast for four weeks, along with the tablet Domperidone 10 mg (antiemetic) before every meal. Drink plenty of water, chew your food well, and do not lie on the bed immediately after meals.

Patient's Query

Thanks you doctor for the reply,

I am taking the tablet Sompraz D. Should I take the tablet Domperidone before every meal?

Hello,

Welcome back to iclinq.com.

I suggest you start taking the tablet Domperidone.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
