What are the causes of severe abdominal pain followed by vomiting?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son has severe abdominal pain followed by vomiting and is getting relief after vomiting. Pain is not continuous. Two weeks ago, he complained of similar pain. His ultrasound and blood reports are normal.

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. I suggest you give him plenty of water and ORS (Oral Rehydration solution) and light, easily digestible foods for a few days. I also suggest the following treatment plan:

  • Tablet Pan junior 20 mg (Pantoprazole) one daily on an empty stomach.
  • Syrup Ulgel A 7.5 mg (Magaldrate, Simethicone, and Oxetacaine) three times a day before food.
  • Tablet Ondem MD 4 mg (Ondansetron) twice a day, 20 minutes before food.
  • Tablet Meftal Spas (Dicyclomine and Mefenamic Acid) SOS after food.

The treatment plan is prescribed for seven days.

Kindly revert tomorrow.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
