Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My father has glaucoma, and I have his reports from last year. Please refer to his reports and tell me what stage he is in and how to stop further spread.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
In the right eye, it is in a very early stage. The left eye is more affected than the right eye, but still, there is mild to moderate damage in the left eye. Eye pressure is in the normal range. As the reports you shared are old, you need to share recent reports so that we can compare both reports to check whether the disease has progressed. The doctor has already prescribed him an eyedrop. Continue that eyedrop, get eye pressure checked frequently, and follow your ophthalmologist's instructions. This is the only way to slow down the progression. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
These are the recent reports he obtained. Please tell me how much it has spread and what can be done to avoid or prevent more spreading.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Thank you for sharing these reports (attachment removed to protect patient's identity). We cannot compare these reports. Though both reports evaluated the visual field, both machines have different software and protocols. The field test should be repeated on the same machine. Grossly, there is a little progression, but we cannot describe this progression in percentages. Eyedrops (Antiglaucoma medicines) are the first line of management. Lasers are advised for selected patients. Surgery is the last option when everything fails. There is no sure treatment to stop its progression. We can prescribe appropriate eyedrops and review him frequently to slow the rate of progression. Thank you.
