Common "Glutathione" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Glutathione

Glutathione is synthesized by the body naturally and is also present in fish, fruits (avocados), vegetables (garlic, broccoli, spinach), and meat. It is an antioxidant and prevents cell damage due to free radicals, peroxides, etc. It comprises cysteine, glutamate, and glycine. It is said that the gastric acids break down glutathione, and hence its availability is poor when taken as a supplement. But, on the other hand, it is beneficial in psoriasis, Parkinson's disease, fatty liver, etc.
