Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from hair loss for the past year. As a result, the hair density on the top portion of my head is getting low. Kindly help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As per the history and image provided (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), it is male pattern hair loss (MPHL) or male pattern baldness. Male pattern hair loss develops due to genetic reasons, testosterone or hormonal fluctuations, climate factors, dandruff issues, wearing helmets or caps, using certain hair products, and undergoing hair treatment procedures like smoothening, straightening, and coloring, which weakens the hair roots. I suggest the following. (Consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.) PRP (platelet-rich plasma) advanced or PRF procedures with mesotherapy can be done once a month for at least six months. In this treatment, the platelet, including the growth factor segment of your blood, is extracted via a syringe and injected superficially on the scalp where the hair loss is more which would help to stimulate hair growth. When combined with PRP, mesotherapy may be done every 15 days, where a serum containing biotin and other vitamins is injected similarly. This procedure is done at a professional hair clinic. Therefore I would advise you to consult a dermatologist in person to know more about the procedure and to undergo the procedure as well. Take Biotin multivitamin tablets once daily after food for two months to help with hair growth and to prevent further hair loss. Apply Minoxidil and Finasteride solution 5 % on the affected area daily at night. Use only one ml quantity in a dropper available with the solution and apply and massage on the affected area. Use this for at least one year to show changes. Do not apply more than the recommended quantity and do not abruptly stop the medication as it helps increase blood circulation for hair growth, and abruptly stopping it would obstruct the blood circulation, suddenly leading to hair fall of the grown hair. There it is required to taper down and stop the solution gradually. Therefore, use the medication at night for one year, then reduce it to six days per week at night for one year, then five days per week at night for one year, and so on. Do not forget to use a cover on your pillow before going to bed to avoid staining the pillow. Apply the solution on a clean, dry scalp, leave it overnight, and wash it off in the morning. Do not use the medication in case you suffer from a migraine. Kindly follow up in case of any further queries. I hope I was helpful to you. Thank you.
