Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 32 years old. I am facing sudden hair fall from the past one month. The hair fall started all of the sudden and full strands of hair is falling out while taking a head shower and combing hair. I have lost half of my hair volume and on left top corner scalp is visible. I have faced this issue three years back, and that I had consulted some doctor. Recently, we changed water. Not sure if that caused hair loss so started to use drinking mineral water for hair wash. I am using Indulekha oil and shampoo. I am using it for the past three weeks. Before that, I was using Wella deep conditioning shampoo and conditioner. I take multivitamin medicine every day for the past two months. I have green tea and do not take normal tea. My hair type is dry. Please let me know if you need any more details.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I feel you are suffering from chronic telogen effluvium. Nutritional deficiency is the commonest cause. Keep your hemoglobin above 12g/dl. Are you taking biotin containing hair supplements? Have dates and fresh vegetables and fruits rich in iron. Did you have severe illness in the recent past? Are you having dandruff issues? Are you having any periods problems? Water change will definitely be associated with hair loss. Indulekha is oil mixed with Minoxidil. After stopping severe hair fall will be there. Do not use Indulekha. Please do lab tests and send reports. Do CBC (complete blood count), serum ferritin, vitamin D3 level, vitamin B 12 level, T3 (triiodothyronine), T4 (thyroxine), and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone). Because of water change and pollution stress all are having hair fall problems.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I did not have any recent severe illness. Yes, I have a dandruff issue and hair is also getting grey. Periods are usually delayed. This month it was delayed by two weeks. Sure, I will do the required test and send back the report. I will start taking medicines prescribed from tomorrow. Please let me know if I should take biotin supplement as well. Also, I am already taking a multivitamin tablet every day. Should I stop a multivitamin tablet and take biotin along with the medicines you prescribed? I will stop using Indulekha oil and use pure coconut oil. Please let me know if I should stop using Indulekha shampoo as well.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Stop Indulekha. Dandruff and periods problems will aggravate hair fall. Use Scalpe shampoo and H-Vit Forte has biotin. Consult your gynecologist if periods problem persists.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
