Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I was drunk and hit my head quite hard 14 years ago. When I woke up the next day, I noticed a small cut, but I did not have any symptoms. Should I be concerned about the head injury?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I cannot comment without seeing the site of injury. However, in concussion head injuries, the patient might get symptoms even after 24 hours. Give attention to symptoms like a headache when you change your posture, nausea, vomiting, and blurring of vision.
If you notice any of these, I suggest you consult your doctor without delay. I hope there is not much bleeding from the small cut on your head, and the wound is cleaned regularly with clean water, and some antiseptic ointment is applied. Is there any swelling around the wound? Have you taken the tetanus booster dose at any time in the past?
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
