My 13-month-old daughter screamed uncontrollably the other night. I rushed to take her up and go about the room to calm her down, but I slipped and she fell to the floor. I slipped and fell on my knees. In that split-second, I realized I do not want to lose my kid, so I released her and crossed my arms in front of me. Therefore, I do not believe she fell from a height of 2 meters, but rather from a height of about one meter or two feet, and I did hear a bang sound when her small head contacted the wooden floor without any rugs. After this, she began sobbing heavily for around three to four minutes. The next day, I searched for clear symptoms but found none. She was slightly less playful or lethargic than usual. What are the possibilities that the head damage she sustained was a traumatic brain injury (TBI)? Does this have the potential to negatively impact her ability or aptitude for learning in the long run?

I do not believe traumatic brain injury is a possibility based on the description that is currently given. This is supported by the fact that she never displayed any symptoms of a significant injury, such as blood, vomiting, or loss of consciousness. A second significant injury is typically not correlated with fall height or floor. Thirdly, the child reassures us that she was fine despite her brief pain after falling during the first three to four minutes of pain she had after falling during the first three to four minutes of her calming down. In my opinion, you can calm your worries because the likelihood of learning issues, if any, is essentially zero.
