Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My father had a heart attack 24 days ago. Now he has a weakness but no pain in the chest. He sometimes feels that his chest has become cold. He underwent an ECG. The doctor said that he had a leaky heart valve. He will recover soon. He is undergoing treatment for atrial fibrillation. Is an angiogram required or not?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

His symptoms are not suggestive of coronary artery disease. However, they could indicate heart failure. For this reason, I would suggest performing a cardiac ultrasound and a chest X-ray. He had a heart attack lately. Suppose a coronary angiogram has not been performed yet. In that case, it should be done to check the blood flow in the other arteries in his heart and discuss possible treatment options like angioplasty or bypass surgery if necessary.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
