Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been bleeding excessively and suffering from abdominal cramps for the past few days. I have stopped taking any birth control pills.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

I suggest you do serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) immediately to check pregnancy.

1. If it comes positive, then have a transvaginal scan and immediately rush to the hospital.

2. If it comes negative, then it could be due to contraceptive (hormonal) withdrawal and can get treated with medications.

I also suggest you get yourself treated for any health issues you have. Take a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and quit recreational activities. If the pregnancy test comes negative, I suggest you take a tablet of Ponstan (Mefenamic Acid) 500 milligrams and a tablet of Tranexamic acid (antifibrinolytic agent) 500 milligrams thrice daily for five days.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
