Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had unprotected sex, and my last period date is the 3rd of January. So I have taken an unwanted 72 tablets after 11 hours. After taking the tablet on the seventh day, I started withdrawal bleeding. And now I have a little cramp in my abdomen, and my period has not started yet.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.

Withdrawal bleeding is only a side effect of the I-pill. It happens due to the sudden withdrawal of hormones from your body. So it does not necessarily happen to everyone.

In your case, you may have abdominal pain and menstrual irregularities, which could be due to hormonal imbalance caused by the I-pill. That is why it is a little unpredictable when you receive your next period. You may get it on time or it can be delayed by seven to ten days.

As you took the pill on time (within 24 hours) there is almost no chance of pregnancy in your case.

Thank you.
