Hi doctor,
I have been taking Nexplanon for about several years. I have some bad anxiety. A couple of months ago, I took a plan B medication. It really messed up my periods, and I finally got it a week ago. It stopped after a few days, turned into spots, and then became extremely heavy for a few days. Maybe this is gross, but at night my boyfriend and I had sex without a condom, and he pulled out. A couple of days later, the heavy flow is completely gone. It made me worried that I had conceived. Is that possible? Would it happen that fast, and will the period stop within a couple of days? Or is it just a coincidence? I know I cannot test for pregnancy until I miss my next period, but I just panicked, and I am very worried. I thought we were safe with the Nexplanon and pulling out, but maybe we need to use condoms from now on. I want to be a mom someday, but not right now.

You have been on Nexplanon, which is a progesterone, and for anxiety, you further took plan B, which is Levonorgestrel, another progesterone. Progestin or Progesterone, every form of this hormone, has side effects like heavy bleeding, irregular unscheduled bleeding or spotting, weight gain, and mood variations.
You had overdosage of contraceptives like Nexoplanon and plan B (Levonorgestrel), both giving side effects on and off while interacting with each other. You can have a blood pregnancy test that will show beta HCG (human choriogonadotrophin) level and will clear you that either you had pregnancy bleed or irregular menstrual bleeding. A urine pregnancy test is confusing in early pregnancy or in failed pregnancy as unable to detect hormones, so better avoid it.
You can have 2 beta HCG (human choriogonadotrophin) levels with intervals of 48 hours if the last one shows a failing pregnancy.
1. Eat a healthy diet with walking or exercise daily for weight reduction and normal BMI (body mass index).
2. Start iron supplements to reduce the chances of anemia.
3. You can have the tablet Ponstan along with Tranexamic Acid 500 mg eight hourly for heavy bleeding after a negative pregnancy test.
