Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a girl in her early teens who has been experiencing abdominal pain and cramps for around two years now. The pain does not occur every day but it occurs very often. The pain occurs randomly and is very sharp and irritating. I have really bad periods accompanied by vomiting, so maybe this has something to do with it. What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. Do you have alterations in bowel habits too? Does passing stools relieve pain? Is there any weight loss since you experienced pain? If there is no weight loss, loose motions, or constipation and pain relieves with defecation, most probably you are suffering from a functional GI (gastrointestinal) disorder, that is not organic but psychological. But it can also be due to periods if it occurs during days of menstruation. In fact, in many cases, detailed history of symptoms, past history, and psychosocial assessment are needed to reach any provisional diagnosis. I advise you to please provide a detailed history so that I may guide you better. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
