Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a hemangioma in my liver that increased in size within a couple of months. It has started making me feel uncomfortable. I am afraid it might burst soon. Should I try to get it removed now?

Answered by Dr. Arpit Varshney

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your concern in detail and will surely help you out. Surgical removal of hemangioma depends on only one criterion. There is no need to remove it if it is asymptomatic, whatever the size may be. If it is causing symptoms and disturbing your daily routine, it needs removal, whatever the size may be.

Size is not an essential criterion. If you are facing difficulties, I will suggest getting it removed. Hemangiomas do not burst that quickly. Also, as your doctor must have told you, hemangiomas are mostly benign. So no need to stress about this.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
