Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been to see my GP a while ago about hemorrhoids. I cannot remember when I first got them. It was a while ago. I have done the usual. Eat fiber to soften stools. Taken herbal tablets to soften them. Have done the warm water baths. Have done pile creams. I went to the toilet yesterday and it was slightly harder than normal. Now have a massive lump. After I had gone, I found blood when wiping. It is absolutely agonizing. I am now weird about going to the toilet because of how much it will hurt. I wanted to know if there are any other treatments you could suggest. I have had a look up about it and says about surgery. I was wondering, I think I remember something about an injection to reduce it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is a procedure other than surgery, called sclerotherapy. This is a very simple procedure, done in the outpatient department. A sclerosing agent is injected into the hemorrhoid which allows it to shrivel and shrink. It is done under local anaesthesia. Hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
