Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Having severe pain in rightside back lower body with rashes. I will attach photos.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
You have got herpes zoster (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It is caused by Varicella zoster virus. Very painful blisters will be there. Must be started on antivirals at earliest. Take tablet Acyclovir 800 mg 5 times a day or other equivalent. For pain, take Paracetamol, apply Calamine lotion to the spots. If not available OTC please meet your doctor. Take care. Do not break the blisters.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
How many days to take tablet?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Please start on Tablet Zovirax 800 mg (Acyclovir) 5 times a day for 1 week (6 am/10 am/2 pm/6 pm/10 pm), Dolo 650 twice a day for 1 week, tablet Allegra 180 (Montelukast and Fexofenadine) once a day for 2 weeks. Apply Calosoft AF lotion morning and night to the area. If blister breaks, apply T bact (Mupirocin) cream on the area. Take rest. Drink lot of water and keep yourself hydrated. Review after 10 days. Take care.
