Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a sore under my lip. I have a history of cold sores and have benefited from capsule Valtrex 2 g twice daily for one day. Can you please suggest me on this? I am currently taking Adderall and daily multivitamin.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. I have seen the photo that you have shared (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). As suggested from the attachment, you are suffering from a skin infection. It is a herpes infection with superadded bacterial infection so you will be needing both antiviral and antibacterial drugs.

I suggest that you take the following medicines along with an ointment.

1. Caplet Valtrex (Valacyclovir Hydrochloride 2 g).

2. Tablet Cefixime Clavulanate 325 mg (Cefexime 200 mg and Potassium Clavulanate 125 mg) twice daily.

3. Ointment Fucibet (Fusidic acid and Betamethasone), apply on affected area twice daily.

I suggest taking this treatment for seven days and you should be completely fine.

Hope this is helpful. Kindly follow up for more queries.

Regards.
