Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 18-year-old male who had sex with a male partner. We had become intimate and touched each other's sex organs. We did not penetrate. We masturbated for a while, after which his sperm fell into my anus. I immediately cleaned it with a cloth, after which I took a bath. But after three weeks, I had typhoid. I fear that I have HIV. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi.
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The act you described was safe, as far as human immunodeficiency virus is concerned. The symptoms which you had can be just coincidental. I suggest that there is no harm in knowing your baseline HIV status. You need to undergo HIV rapid test at any accredited labThis might require a finger prick or a small blood sample to be withdrawn. The results will be given in a few minutes. I also suggest using condoms at each time of sex, which not only provides protection from HIV but also from various sexually transmitted infections.
I hope this information will help you. In case of further queries, please revert.
Thank you.
