Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had protected vaginal sex twice, and I received oral unprotected sex. I am worried about catching HIV. I took an HIV RNA PCR test, and it was negative. However, I am still concerned about catching HIV and other STDs like HPV, HSV, etc. Can you tell me if I need to get tested for HIV again or if this is enough? What is the risk of catching other STDs? It has been 24 days since exposure. I have itching around my testicles and redness around the tip of the penis, where I can see tiny red dots and hot urine while urinating. Other than this, I have no symptoms, and I feel pain while urinating.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Regarding your sexual activities, I do not think you have HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), except that you will have a bacterial infection from oral sex because bacteria dwell in the mouth. Kindly get a urine culture test and reply to me with the result. Please take the following:

  1. Take tablet Metronidazole 400 mg.
  2. Take capsule Co-Amoxiclav 625 mg.
  3. Take tablet Ketoconazole 200 mg.
  4. Take tablet Acyclovir 800 mg.

If your symptoms persist, schedule another follow-up appointment via chat, phone, or video consultation.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
