Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Is there a chance of getting pregnant after taking two I-pills within 24 hours? I did not bleed after taking the pill. However, I have nausea and did not have my period yet. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

I-pill is a high dose of Progesterone hormone (a female hormone), which is produced in your body in the second half of the period after ovulation. This pill will suddenly increase the thickness of the inner lining of the uterus, making it unfavorable for a possible pregnancy to happen. As it is a single dose, it does not have the strength to stand on. So it falls off, and you get period or bleeding of the increased thickness within seven to ten days.

There is no meaning in taking two tablets, one after the other; using one will protect you against second exposure. If you repeatedly take I-pills, your hormones and periods will be fully disturbed. If it was just a single pill, you would have got periods within seven to ten days. Now with the second dose, the endometrial thickness would have increased so much, that your periods will be also e delayed. I suggest waiting for seven to ten days. You can wait for a maximum of two weeks. Nausea, bloating, mood swings, depression, etc., are features seen in the second half of the normal period too, which is a feature of the Progesterone hormone.

After two weeks, if you do not get periods, you can have a urine pregnancy test.

I hope this information helps provide some insight into your symptoms.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.

Thank you.
