Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I never used to remove my makeup properly before bed, and now I have developed clogged pores and hyperpigmentation from picking my face. I used a Salicylic acid 20 % peel, which was not beneficial, so I used a Jessner's peel, and it removed around 50 % of the hyperpigmentation and some of my clogged pores. But I am always picking my face. How to get rid of this habit?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Jessner's peel and Salicylic Acid peel are good enough. Try to cut your nails; otherwise, you will damage your skin more. People with this disorder find themselves relaxing in scratching themselves. They find a way out to put off their stress. So I suggest you to use an anti-acne face wash that has a combination of Salicylic Acid and Lactic Acid. And, right now, your pigmentation is red. So, please do not apply anything to reduce pigmentation as it may contain chemicals and may harm the skin more. Also, use sunblock with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 30.

I hope this helps.

Take care.
