I am a patient of hypertension and anxiety, taking treatment for the last two years. Presently, my BP is well under control (average BP 115/70 mmHg) and pulse varies between 75 to 95 BPM. Presently, I am taking Telma CT (80 + 12.5) and Embeta-XR 50 daily and Esnax Plus (Escitalopram + Clonazepam) for anxiety. I want some advice whether I can reduce or decrease the dosage of my current medication.
If you are taking this medication regularly and the blood pressure and pulse readings are current or latest, then it would not be a good idea to change the medications or dosage of some of them. Your weight (BMI) should also be within healthy limits with no 'central obesity'. With 202 pounds of weight, I doubt you should stop taking BP medication or even lower the dosage. There are other factors too, including but not limited to, cholesterol and other lipid levels, kidney function tests and liver functioning. Regarding anxiety medications, you need to consult (in person) your psychologist for proper evaluations. If he feels appropriate, he may taper off the medication until you stop taking it. Do not stop taking it at once, as this may cause serious side effects. Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask more queries if you have questions. I would be happy to assist.
