Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I visited an endocrinologist about a year ago, as my TSH level was below normal. Also, I tested positive for TPO and TSI antibodies. Currently, my TSH is 0.09 mIU/mL, T4 is 0.14 mcg/dL, and my TPO antibodies are 900 mIU/mL. My heart rate is elevated, and I feel jittery. My endocrinologist is unsure whether this is a transient episode of thyroiditis or will it shift to Grave's disease. Currently, I am using tablet Methimazole 10 mg per day. However, I am nervous about taking it due to the rare side effect of low white blood cell counts. Is this medication safe?

Kindly advise.
