Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I feel unstable when I walk, especially when I walk too far or perform any kind of activity, and I become tired quickly as if I need to rest or sit. I feel like my mind is fuzzy; I cannot concentrate, and cannot speak to others normally. I constantly feel anxious, stressed, and tired. I sleep well and eat healthily, yet I still feel like I have no energy or passion to do anything, and when I try to exercise,
I am exhausted. I checked my vitamins and they are all fine (vitamin D, B12, and multivitamins), but it all started when my iron level was low (ferritin), so I had anemia around a year ago and took iron injections for three months, and it improved but I was still fatigued. But it has been a year and I still not feeling right. I recently checked my TSH (SDMC), and it was 2,450 uIU/mL.
So, maybe it is low?
I am not sure, but maybe you can help me with this situation that have been struggling with for a year.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
Regarding your symptoms and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level results, I believe you have developed autoimmune thyroiditis, which can lead to hypothyroidism, which is why you are always exhausted. Although your earlier low iron levels may have contributed to your lack of movement, this may have been corrected.
I suggest you take the following: two tablets of Dexamethasone (steroids), four milligrams (mg), thrice a day for one week, and two tablets of Levothyroxine 100 mcg once a day for two weeks. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him/her, and take the medicines with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Take care.
