Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 39-year-old female, and I am ten weeks pregnant. I am taking the tablet Thyronorm 112 mg. I underwent a thyroid peroxidase microsomal antibody test, and my level was reported to be 600 mIU/ml. Will I have any problems with pregnancy?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I think you have hypothyroidism from the attached reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). You have antibodies against your thyroid gland, so the gland is not functioning correctly. Therefore, I suggest you take the medications to decrease thyroid hormone formation. If you do not take the medicines for thyroid, you might have miscarriage or problems related to the baby's development. So, I suggest you consult your doctor and take the medications regularly.
