How to treat inflammation in gums and tooth marks on the tongue?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I brushed my teeth too hard, and now my gums are inflamed, and there are also tooth marks on my tongue.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

As per your history, you have traumatic gingival inflammation. For that, avoid brushing for four to five days and use Chlorhexidine mouthwash two to three times daily, mandatory before sleep.

Also, after that, use an ultra-soft toothbrush for two weeks. After that, you can check the modified bass tooth brushing technique online and brush your teeth as per that, and you will never get trauma after that.

For tooth impressions like that on the tongue, I need to check the photograph because sometimes other tongue lesions may look like tooth impressions. Also, you may have malocclusion of teeth that can only be checked if you upload pictures of teeth both in closed and open bite positions.

I hope my answer will help you and visit us if you have further questions.

Regards.
