Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My daughter is four years old. She has been getting repeated infections since starting school. Recently, a doctor suggested that she has a nose allergy, because of which she is getting repeated infections. They prescribed a syrup containing Montelukast and Levocetirizine for a month and a nasal spray containing Mometasone for two months. Will taking these medicines lower her immunity, and can she go to school when she is under medication? Will these help her or reduce her infection rates?
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
It will make her symptoms free. Allergy causes inflammation and makes the person prone to infection. Medicine will help. Follow your doctor's advice. Please use a mask whenever she goes outside of the home.
I hope this helps address your concern.
Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
She is attending a school. Does she need to wear a mask in school? Will the steroid nasal spray reduce her immunity?
Thank you.
Hi,

She can wear a mask in school. No, it has only local action. It will not reduce her immunity in most cases. Do not worry.
I hope this addresses your concern.
