Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been suffering from abdominal cramping, chronic diarrhea, gas, and bloating for quite some time. I also seem to pee quite frequently (once every hour or so). I tried using various diets and focusing on eating certain types of foods. Vegetables do not digest well in my stomach, as well as protein and other food groups. I started taking probiotics a few weeks ago. Many people suggest various over-the-counter or natural remedies. Trying to hear different viewpoints from people who have eliminated various GI issues. I have had frequent debilitating stomach cramps and chronic diarrhea (I cannot remember the last time I had a solid bowel movement). I was prescribed Pepto-bismuth for this. It has been years. Same issue presenting itself for many, many years. I have been under the following medications, Albuterol, Symbicort, Zantac, and Bentyl.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Does a specific type of diet seem to help? I am trying to rule out gluten intolerance or lactose intolerance here, so it would be helpful to know if you have noticed any connection between eating these items and having a diarrhoeal episode or bloating, for that matter. It could also be inflammatory bowel disease. Given your age and the symptoms you have mentioned, it is a possibility.

Can you give me more details like, has there been any weight loss recently? Have you noticed any blood in the stool ever? Do you have mouth ulcers or any eye trouble?

Let me know all these so that I can help you with this. I am very hopeful we can figure this out. Depending on the underlying pathology, adequate treatment must be initiated.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for visiting icliniq.com.

Kind regards.
