Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had a computed tomography (CT) high definition for an autoimmune check. I noticed it stated there is a new 2 mm nodule in the left upper lobe on series two image 154 with faint surrounding ground glass, likely inflammatory. Does this mean I have a ground glass nodule? Could it be something precancerous?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I can understand your concern. To your description, the possibility of the inflammatory nodule is more likely. But I want to know a few more things to rule out malignant nodules. Please let me know if you have any smoking habits? Do you have any family history of cancer? Please reply to me with answers to the above-asked questions so that I can guide you better. I wish you good health. Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have no history of smoking. However, I do have dermatomyositis which causes interstitial lung disease (ILD). I am being monitored; that is why I had a computed tomography (CT) scan. What can cause faint inflammation around the nodule? Are there ways to make it go away? Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. There is no need to worry about malignant nodules. It is very less likely. The inflammation around the nodule is suggestive because of interstitial lung disease (ILD). May I know your previous computed tomography (CT) report? May I know your current symptoms? Is there any drop in oxygen level on exertion? Please reply to my answers to the above-asked questions so that I can guide you better. I wish you good health. Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
