Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I recently purchased a new mirror with 20x magnification, and I noticed that the bottom of the irises in both of my eyes lacks the usual appearance of arteries or veins. Instead, it appears as if there is a straight line and a slightly lighter color at the bottom. I do not experience any vision problems, but I do have floaters. I am not sure if you can see it, but in the iris, especially at the bottom, it appears different now. Is it normal for the iris to change in appearance like this?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern. Of course, having good eyesight is a boon these days in the modern era. I have examined your eye in detail, good news is that the iris, pupil, cornea, conjunctiva, sclera, and eyelids appear to be absolutely fine. Iris is composed of crypts and furrows anatomically. and it has pigmentation which varies according to the melanin content as per race. I found color and pigmentation uniformly. It also has blood vessels that appear absolutely fine. It is all normal and good. Floaters are a result of vitreous changes or retinal issues that will need a dilated retinal checkup.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
Regards.
