Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a healthy individual who exercises regularly and eats a healthy balanced diet. However, I have been experiencing extra heartbeats for a while now. These beats started a couple of weeks ago and were strong at first, but now they have become milder and milder. I captured them on my smart watch ECG and will upload the readings along with my query. I am going for a proper ECG next week after talking to my doctor. But it would be comfortable if I could get an opinion about what is happening in my body. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the details you provided (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). ECG (electrocardiography) strip shows ventricular ectopic beats. They can occur in normal individuals, also. If they are occurring too frequently or causing any symptoms, then we may consider evaluating and treating them. They sometimes occur because of stress, anxiety, caffeine, and smoking. Treatment will depend on the cause. I suggest you do the following tests. Do ECG (electrocardiography), Echocardiography, 24-hour Holter test, CBC (complete blood count), KFT (kidney function test), Serum electrolytes, and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) levels. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply. The ectopic beats are less frequent now, and I have an appointment for an ECG. I am attaching the CBC reports and the other test results. I have TSH - 0.69 mlU/L and T4 - 18.4 ng/dL. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol is on the higher side, and you need dietary modifications to control it. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
