Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been diagnosed with GERD and have been taking the tablet Protonix for three months, but I am still experiencing intermittent pain on the left side and smelly gas regardless of my diet. I underwent a colonoscopy, endoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, CT scan, and blood tests. During these procedures, three large polyps were removed, and I was advised to return for a follow-up in one year. The medical professionals also noticed signs of chronic gastritis. I have been experiencing this left side pain and gas for a period of four months. I tested negative for celiac disease as well. What could be the problem? Please help me.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and I can understand your concern.

It looks like you have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) because your pain and gas keep coming back. To get rid of your symptoms, you should focus on losing weight, execrising regularly , and practicing meditation and yoga to improve your general health. Stress and worry can make IBS symptoms worse, so it is important to avoid them. Also, it is important to make sure you get enough sleep at night. As for medicine, you can take tablet Normaxin (Dicyclomine, Chlordiazepoxide, and Clidinium) twice a day before meals and tablet Rifagut (Rifaximin) 550 twice a day after meals . I suggest you stick to this routine for 15 days. Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this will help you out.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
