This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I started having red bumps, which were itchy all over my body. Later the bumps started to dry and crack. What could this be?

Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Suvash Sahu

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. It seems you have scabies. Scabies is an itchy skin infestation caused by the mite. Scabies can often be diagnosed clinically with a pruritic rash, with the itching predominantly at night and characteristic linear burrows over limbs.

I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below.

  1. Use 5 % Permethrin (Benzyl alcohol) cream overnight, and leave it for 10 to 12 hours.
  2. Take tablet Ivermectin (anti-inflammatory) 12 mg, one dose.
  3. Apply Fluticasone (Fluticasone Propionate) 0.05 % cream twice daily for five to seven days.
  4. Take tablet Levocetirizine (antihistamine) once daily for five to seven days.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
