How to manage myocardial bridging in the LAD?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a 50 percent occlusive muscle bridge in the LAD, which was detected by angiography. I am currently taking Atorvastatin and Aspirin. Will it be helpful? I am 29 years old, and sometimes I experience chest pain.

Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your angiography (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You need not worry. Please continue taking your medication and follow up with your cardiologist. Yes, you have myocardial bridging in the LAD (left anterior descending artery), but in general, the coronary arteries are fine. Avoid strenuous activities and fatty foods. I advise you to consume double-toned milk.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the prompt reply.

I sometimes fear falling down. Is this a symptom of anxiety?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You are experiencing anxiety. Try to manage it and avoid unnecessary thoughts. You have a long way to go. For any concerns, consult your treating doctor; he will address your doubts. Stay happy and continue to focus on your work and studies, as you are doing.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
