Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My son is 9 years old. Four days ago he had stomach pain and loose motion. He had loose motion for about 2-3 times a day. We gave him Anafortan syrup for stomach pain. Next day he felt better. Today again he has light stomach pain and went potty but not too loose. Again I have given him Anafortan syrup. Our family doctor is out of station. I do not want him to miss his school. Please suggest me what should I do? Can I give him Pecef 50 mg? Or could you suggest any other medicine?
Hello,
Welcome to cliniq.com. I have thoroughly gone through your case and can well understand your genuine health concerns. There are a lot of reasons for the pain in abdomen. I feel sad to hear about your son. It could be due to various reasons. Due to indigestion or Gastroenteritis due to bacterial or viral pathogens. If bacterial, he will need antibiotics and they can be ruled out on stool examination and culture. If it is due to worms in the intestines, he needs deworming medications. If due to hyperacidity in stomach, he needs Gaviscon syrup. Get his stool examination and culture sensitivity test and upload the reports. I am here to review and help accordingly. Better is to take him to the nearest hospital for thorough physical evaluation and medication. They will also do all the needed tests then and there. This way his school will not be missed.
