Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 33-year-old male planning for a second baby. Nowadays, I do not have much interest in having sex. I dislike having sex and I am not attracted to my partner. I think that I suffer from low libido. Kindly help to improve my libido.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Low Libido has many reasons such as given in the following:

  1. Infections – It can be due to urine infection, you can do the urine complete and ultrasound of the pelvis to diagnose the cause.

  2. Diabetes, hypertension – Make sure blood pressure and blood sugar are under control. Already on medication, share medication name?

  3. Hormonal disturbances- Low testosterone, low levels of thyroid, high levels of prolactin – check for TFT (thyroid function test), prolactin, and testosterone.

  4. Obesity - Plan for regular exercise and yoga.

  5. High cholesterol – Check for lipid profile and plan for regular exercise.

  6. Chronic disease or on any chronic medication – Share details.

  7. Anxiety can also cause libido issues

You need to do the following:

  1. USG pelvis to rule out pelvis infection.

  2. Thyroid check-up, free T3 T4, and TSH.

  3. Lipid Profile to know cholesterol level.

  4. Blood Pressure test.

  5. RBS (random blood sugar).

Kindly Share more details regarding the above reason, so we can work on the cause and treatment. I can suggest you tablet Mildfil (phosphodiesterase type 5) 5 milligrams twice a day as a temporary solution.

I hope my answers to your query help you.

Regards.
