Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 38 years old and really scared because I recently found a tick on me. I have been reading about Lyme disease and I am terrified that I might have been infected, and I do not know what to do. I have heard that Lyme disease can cause serious problems if not treated early. I am experiencing some fatigue and muscle aches, and I do not know if it is just in my head or something more serious. Can you please tell me what signs I should be looking for and what steps I need to take to make sure I do not have Lyme disease? I want to catch this early if there is any chance I have been infected. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Yes, Lyme disease is caused by ticks, but if ticks bite you, then only you can get Lyme disease. Otherwise, there are no chances of getting Lyme disease. So if there are any bite marks on the body, then you should go for a checkup otherwise no need to worry. If you find rashes on your body, swelling, and fever, then you can consult a nearby doctor and they will do a test for Lyme disease and prescribe you medicine. Accordingly, if you do not have any of these symptoms then do not worry. As I mentioned tick-borne disease occurs when a tick bites us, otherwise you have nothing to worry about.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
