Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a hard large lump on left side of the jaw that was shown to be a lymph node 6.6 mm for six months now. First appeared after major facial swelling that went down after 10 days of Augmentin but the lump stayed the same. CT scan also showed two other masses one 7 mm and one 9 mm. Wondering if it is something to be concerned about. I am 32 years old, female. I had very itchy feet for two years with no relief from medication, last couple months very fatigued and loss of appetite.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It looks these lesions are reactive non-cancerous lymph nodes (attachment removed to protect patient identity), which may occur sometimes after a throat, oral, sinus or ear infections. Do you have any such history of infection? Do you smoke or take alcohol? I will suggest you to visit an E.N.T specialist and have an oral and throat examination done. If needed they will take FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology from these lymph nodes, which will clear all the doubts. These nodes are not so large and are less than 1 cm in size. If it would have been cancerous they will not stay at the same size for a long time. Regarding itchy feet that may be related to skin problem dermatitis. If you can send me CT scan result reports and laboratory results also.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have been treated for dermatitis and eczema with no relief. I literally scratch my skin raw and cannot stop itching. I had four infections last year and all were diagnosed as cellulitis. I have three lumps in my groin area also for over two years which I have never had checked out cause I assumed they were just cysts or something but now that I have had this hard lump on my chin, I am wondering if they are lymph nodes also.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Any hard nodule, lymph node, mass or lump needs work up with FNAC or biopsy. Regarding groin lumps, which are there for two years are usually non-cancerous. Because otherwise, they will not stay for two years in the same size. So nothing to worry but I would suggest having a check up and FNAC from chin nodule. For chronic dermatitis and eczema, it is better to try traditional and herbal local treatment, which benefits a lot of people.
