Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am having stomach pain in the lower abdomen for the past few days. I am also feeling bloated abdomen along with stomach pain. All day I have been trying to poo and I just did once. When I looked at the toilet paper there was a tiny bit of blood. Also, my anal region hurts. Now, it is itchy and sore. My urine is also dark yellow in color. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. It appears that you are experiencing difficulties with digesting your food. To address this, I recommend incorporating regular exercise into your routine and increasing your fiber intake by consuming more green vegetables and salads. Including fruits like bananas can also help alleviate constipation. The presence of a small amount of blood you have noticed on toilet paper should not be a cause for concern, but maintaining proper hygiene during this period is important to prevent complications. It is advisable to undergo a per rectal examination to aid in diagnosis. The potential differential diagnoses include anal fissure, hemorrhoids, and irritable bowel syndrome. The probable diagnosis in your case is constipation and anal fissure. Treatment involves taking a tablet of Rabeprazole once a day on an empty stomach to prevent acidity. It is important to consult your doctor, discuss the medication, and obtain their consent before starting it. If you experience increased rectal bleeding, fever, or vomiting, it is essential to seek immediate medical attention at the emergency room. Preventive measures include staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the anal area (using wet wipes for wiping), and following a healthy diet consisting of fruits and vegetables.
