Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have soreness on arm and scabs but when the scab falls off, it does not heal. An original sore was small rounded with a crust. Sore is over a year old. I am using aloe vera cream and steroid cream for a month.
Hi,
I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.
I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.
I have viewed the images (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I can see a crusted plaque. This could be either in situ carcinoma (Bowen's disease) or a squamous cell carcinoma. I can see signs of photodamage in the background, lots of sunspots. I suggest a skin biopsy. Do you have any symptoms like pain or itching?
Thank you for consulting me.

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
There is no pain or itching. A little bleeding is there. Would you rule out melanoma?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read and understand your concern.
My first possibility would be either a squamous cell carcinoma or Bowen's disease since this is a sun-exposed site. Melanoma is a less likely possibility. It is usually dark or pigmented whereas this is a red, crusted patch.
Looking forward to your response in order to help you.
Thank you.
