Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 31 years old. I have no pelvic pain before, after, or during periods. My periods are coming every month, but the amount of blood is reduced. As we planned to conceive, we decided to have an ultrasound, and the reports showed that I have cysts that are around 5.2 cm in size. What should I do now? I do not want to go for any surgery. Please suggest whether any medication can solve my problem.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Chocolate cysts are a type of ovarian cyst that is filled with old blood and tissue. They are usually caused by endometriosis, a condition where the tissue that lines the uterus grows outside of it, causing inflammation and pain. Chocolate cysts can affect fertility and make it more difficult to conceive. Since you are not experiencing any pelvic pain, it is possible that the cyst has not grown to a large size yet. However, a 5.2 cm cyst is large and may require medical attention.

It is important to consult a gynecologist to discuss treatment options. In some cases, medication may effectively reduce the cyst's size and manage symptoms. However, surgery may be necessary if the cyst is causing significant pain or affecting fertility.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
