Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am divorced. I am thyroid-deficient. I never had a health concern since I was a child. I had a regular menstrual cycle every month, but I did not experience my usual process. Therefore, I got periods for 15 to 20 days. I saw my doctor, who told me my wall had grown thick. I, therefore, took the medication she had advised. Once more, after eight days without a period, I experienced one, which required a trip to the doctor. She performed an ultrasound and discovered a cyst in my right ovary. I am worried about what to do. Please advise, and I will be very grateful.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

According to your description, PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome), irregular periods, scanty menses, acne, excessive weight gain, and facial hair is possible. These things are commonly seen in PCOS. Weight and PCOS are correlated with each other. Along with the hormonal course, you should exercise regularly and modify your diet to maintain weight. Otherwise, it will not help you to regulate your periods. Please attach the scan report and which medications you are taking right now.

Thank you and take care.
