Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 15-year-old, and I am very insecure about my teeth. My adult teeth still have not come out yet, and I am stuck with my baby teeth right now. Is there a way to fix this or treat it? I would like to know.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Considering your age, you should have got all your permanent teeth by now. Usually, all teeth, whether milk or permanent, will develop right from birth and present inside the jaw bones. From six years of age, slowly permanent teeth emerge one by one, starting from four front teeth and one back tooth, and going on till 13 to 14 years, except for the wisdom teeth. Since you told me you are stuck with milk teeth, you must immediately check with an X-ray of the upper and lower jaw to confirm if your permanent teeth are in position. Please send me the scanned copy of the OPG (orthopanthomography) along with a few pictures of your mouth so I can give you a clear idea of how to proceed.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
