Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 24 years old and I had an abortion recently. I took four tablets of Misoprostol and after four hours I took another four pills of the same medicine. I had really heavy bleeding and clotting for three days, after that I was bleeding for two months but that was not heavy bleeding then my bleeding stopped for a week and I got my periods after that and everything was normal. But then again, I got really heavy bleeding I was bleeding out of my pants for five days and was passing really big clots. I do not understand what is going on with me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Sometimes after medical abortion, some products of conception are left behind. That leads to abnormal bleeding. As you are bleeding irregularly and abnormally you should get an ultrasonography of the pelvis done immediately and use condoms every time. If there are retained products we have to manage that medically or surgically.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
