Taking Evecare thrice didn’t help bring back periods. Why?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 22 years old and I missed my period in two years back. Then I started Himalaya Evecare two tablets daily for four months and then stopped it. My periods were regularized then. Again a few months back my periods did not come and again I started Evecare and periods came for three months. Then again I missed my period and I was still taking Evecare. This time Evecare did not help bring back my periods. May I know what is happening?

Hello,

Welcome to the icliniq.com.

For the delayed period, rule out the cause and after consulting gynecologist only, treatment can be taken. Thyroid problem, excess stress, obesity, starvation, ovarian problem, diabetes, etc., like causes, should be ruled out. For that serum random blood sugar, serum TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone), USG (ultrasound) abdomen, etc., like investigation can be done. According to the cause, specific treatment can be given if needed. Do not try any self-medication. If you have a history of unprotected intercourse then rule out pregnancy by urine hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) card test. Take care.
