Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had not seen my periods since four months. When I went to a doctor, he conducted an ultrasound and found everything was okay with me. However, to restore my menstrual cycle, he suggested tablets of Norethisterone BP 5mg, which I took for 14 days. Less than a week after finishing the dosage, my menstrual periods came for six days. So I have been trying to be pregnant. I tried tracking my ovulation days and had sex. However, I had to start my periods according to flow yesterday, which has not started yet, and I just took a negative pregnancy test. What could be the problem?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Start taking 0.4 milligrams of folic acid daily. Eat a healthy, nutritious diet with less salt, sugar, and oil.
Exercise daily, walking, and yoga to maintain a normal BMI (body mass index).
Have sex in the fertile period of the cycle. If the cycle is irregular, you can have oral contraceptive pills for two to three months to have a regular cycle. Otherwise better to start sex from day eight to day 19 of the menstrual cycle on alternate days to have a conception. Quit recreational drugs, as these cause infertility in both males and females and can cause congenital anomalies in babies.
Do recreational activities frequently like swimming and painting.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
